Tuesday, October 27, 2026 brings a mix of an AI IPO filing, a market rebound, a record listing countdown, two new IPOs and a browser built for non-technical teams. Here is what is happening across IT and the wider technology world.

Wall Street rebounds on Anthropic's IPO filing as Meta plans a $95 billion equity raise

U.S. stocks rose on Monday as Anthropic's IPO filing revived enthusiasm for the AI trade, with the S&P 500 up 0.70 percent at 7,676.77, the Nasdaq Composite up 0.82 percent at 26,169.38 and the Dow up 0.28 percent at 52,361.58 [1][2]. Semiconductor stocks rose 2.8 percent but remain down 12.2 percent for the month, and the S&P 500 and Nasdaq were coming off back-to-back weekly losses [1][2]. Meta fell 1.9 percent after announcing a plan to raise up to $95 billion in equity, including $35 billion of immediate offerings, to fund its AI buildout, so the raise weighed on the stock [2][3]. Microsoft, Alphabet and Amazon are among the companies reporting earnings this week, and a Fed policy decision is also due [4]. Closing figures differ by a few points between outlets.

Anthropic's S-1 shows a $974 million Q2 operating profit and an $80.7 billion net loss

Anthropic, PBC filed its public S-1 on Monday to list on the Nasdaq under the ticker ANT, and the filing shows second-quarter revenue of $11.6 billion and an operating profit of $974 million, its first profitable quarter on that measure [5][9]. Q1 revenue was $4.7 billion with an operating loss of about $1.7 billion, and first-half revenue was $16.29 billion with an operating loss of $693 million [6][7]. Forbes calculates that revenue rose about 144 percent from Q1 to Q2 while computing and infrastructure costs rose about 65 percent [5]. Revenue was $4.59 billion in 2025 [6].

The headline net loss for the first half was $80.7 billion, but $72.39 billion of it came from non-cash changes in the fair value of convertible notes, derivative liabilities and simple agreements for future equity, which reflect the company's rising valuation [6]. Anthropic also disclosed that 5 to 7 percent of revenue in the first nine months of 2026 came from customers later found to be violating its usage policies or commercial terms, including what it alleges is unauthorised model distillation, where developers use Claude's outputs to train competing models [5]. It warned that revenue growth may slow, infrastructure spending could rise and reliance on a limited number of cloud providers creates dependencies [9].

Press reports put the valuation under discussion at $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion, a mid-November listing target and a raise of about $100 billion, but the filing itself omits valuation metrics [5][8]. Compute commitment figures differ by source, with one analysis putting them past $800 billion and others citing lower totals, so treat any single number with care. This is one quarter of operating profit in a company whose losses on paper are large, which is my reading rather than a claim from the filing.

Jio Platforms' allotment, refunds and share credits arrive a day before its October 28 listing

Jio Platforms' shares are due to list on BSE and NSE on Wednesday, October 28, after its ₹30,213 crore IPO closed at 22.19 times subscription [10][12]. Upstox reports that the basis of allotment was finalised on Tuesday, October 27, with shares credited to allottees' demat accounts and refunds for non-allottees processed the same day [10][11]. Other trackers had expected the basis of allotment on Monday, October 26, and one still shows 21.36 times subscription against 22.19 times elsewhere, so dates and tallies differ by source [12][13]. The issue was entirely a fresh sale of 27 crore shares with no offer for sale, and allotment status can be checked with a PAN or application number on KFin Technologies, NSE and BSE [11].

The unofficial grey market premium was ₹249 on Monday, which is not a forecast [13]. The minimum retail bid was one lot of 12 shares, or ₹13,428 at the top of the band, and by my arithmetic a ₹249 premium would make that lot worth about ₹16,416 on listing, a notional gain of ₹2,988 [12][13]. Listing prices can differ sharply from grey market quotes.

SFC Environmental and BLS Polymers open their IPOs as EAAA India Alternatives enters Day 2

SFC Environmental Technologies opens its ₹667.53 crore IPO today, October 27, with bidding until October 29 at ₹313 to ₹330 a share and a lot of 45 shares, or ₹14,850 at the top of the band by my arithmetic [15][16]. The issue combines a fresh sale of ₹150 crore with an offer for sale of up to 1.57 crore shares, and the company raised ₹200.26 crore from 17 anchor investors at ₹330 [15][16]. BusinessToday put the grey market premium at ₹20 to ₹22, or 6 to 7 percent, while StockGro showed ₹31 on October 22, so quotes vary and none is a forecast [15][17]. Allotment is tentatively on October 30 [17].

BLS Polymers opens a ₹255 crore fresh issue of 1.70 crore shares today and closes on October 29, at ₹142 to ₹150 a share with a minimum bid of 100 shares, or ₹15,000 at the top of the band by my arithmetic [14][16]. It plans to use ₹77.56 crore of the proceeds to expand manufacturing capacity [16]. EAAA India Alternatives' ₹1,200 crore IPO opened on October 26 at ₹1,585 to ₹1,665 a share and closes on October 28, so today is its second day of bidding [14].

Strawberry releases version 1.0 of its AI browser for teams that do not write code

Stockholm startup Strawberry released version 1.0 of its AI browser on Monday, October 26, taking it out of beta and aiming it at sales, marketing, recruiting and customer service teams that do not write code [18][19]. It calls its assistants companions: a salesperson can train one to research prospects, contact them and enter their details into a sales database, and colleagues can reuse it [18]. A larger job such as researching 200 companies can be split among sub-agents running in parallel [18]. The product is free to try and is available on macOS and Windows [19][20].

The 12-person company raised $6 million in a round co-led by General Catalyst and EQT Ventures, with angel investors including founders of Lovable, Supabase and Hugging Face, and it is preparing a Series A [18][19]. That seed round dates from October 2025 and is not new money [18][21].

What to Watch Next

Four things to follow. First, Jio's listing on Wednesday, October 28 after Tuesday's allotment and refunds [10]. Second, subscription figures for SFC Environmental and BLS Polymers through October 29 and for EAAA India Alternatives until it closes on October 28 [14][15]. Third, Meta's equity offering and big tech earnings this week alongside the Fed decision [3][4]. Fourth, Anthropic's next filing steps, including any price range and listing date, which the S-1 does not set [5][8].
