Apple's Siri AI Gets Five New Languages in October. Hindi Is Not One of Them.

Apple's new Siri AI is about to speak more languages, and none of them are Indian. On September 14, 2026 Apple announced that Siri AI is rolling out as a beta in English, with French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish coming in October [1]. All five are already switched on in the iOS 27.2 developer beta, which first appeared on September 16 [7]. Apple has not given an exact October date, and Depth Grid did not find confirmation in the sources reviewed that the update has shipped.

Siri AI is Apple's rebuilt assistant, described as a new version of Siri on the next generation of Apple Intelligence, with understanding of personal context across messages, emails and photos, awareness of what is on screen and more actions inside apps [1]. It reached Indian iPhones around 10:30 pm IST on September 14 [6]. English (India) is on Apple's supported list, so Indian users can try it today if their device qualifies [2].

Hindi is where the gap shows. Hindi and other Indian languages are not listed for Siri AI [2]. Apple has published no timeline for Hindi, for Siri AI or for Apple Intelligence, and it has named no languages beyond the October six [3]. There is also a practical catch. Apple's India support page explains that the classic Siri can take mixed-language requests and reply in English or Hindi, but the same page carries a different rule once the new assistant is on.

In other words, an Indian user who switches on Siri AI may lose the Hindi spoken replies the older assistant offered. Anyone who relies on them should test before enabling the beta.

Hardware narrows the audience further. Siri AI needs an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max or any iPhone 16 or 17 series model, while the iPhone 11 through iPhone 15 non-Pro models install iOS 27 but keep the classic assistant [5][6]. The same tiering applies on iPad and Mac, measured by chip [5]. My reading is that the value of Siri AI in India is concentrated among English-speaking owners of recent premium phones. That is an analysis, not an Apple statement.

Language, device and region now each act as a gate. Apple is also holding Siri AI back from iPhones and iPads in the EU with no timeline, and Macworld reports it is unavailable in China while regulatory issues are worked through [10][9].
